Accelerated path to carbon neutral shipping

In order to achieve carbon neutral operations by 2050 it will require the use of Hydrogen or other palliatives. The 65% reduction in Energy anticipated by 2030 will enable a substantial offset against the increased capital and operating costs expected to achieve carbon neutral operations

Cop24 GHG emissions based on 2oC Global Warming

  • 30% EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) improvement by 2030
  • 50% EEDI improvement by 2050
  • Carbon Neutral operation by 2050 for 1,5deg warming are under discussion

Sulphur Cap and IMO/EPA NOx compliance by 2020

Full application of EcoSpeed Marine Products and Technologies enable full SOx, NOx, Particulates emissions and a 40% reduction in GHG emissions for 2020 deliveries.

Sulphur emissions will only be achieved by the use of Low Sulphur fuels or LNG, but the decreased fuel consumption will more than compensate for the cost premium of such fuels compared to HFO

EcoSpeed Marine expect its products to enable reductions of GHG emissions in excess of 65% by 2030 at a moderate cost premium which will enable pay back in less than 12 months
